3G in India coming after September 1st

Finally DoT, India has confirmed the clearance of all the nine participants for the long waited 3G auction to begin on 9th April of this year.  The participants were Sunil Mittal-led Bharti Airtel, Anil Ambani Group company Reliance Telecom, Vodafone Essar, Etisalat DB, Idea Cellular, Stel, Tata Teleservices, Aircel and Videocon.

Also it has stated that

Operators, however, can start commercial launch post 1st September, 2010 only.

So now its going to be the rush game on which company builds and make the infrastructure ready to become the first telecom operator to get 3G after BSNL.  However 3G for Airtel might come only by the year-end or may be next year as they said it should be able to start 3G services within 6-8 months after bids are through.
