Now soon these long queue and the slow process of collection will soon become history.India will soon experience a  uniform electronic toll collection system on its national highways, increasing the revenue, curbing leakages and ensuring smooth travel across the country.</p><p><strong>According to the Minister of road transport and highways Kamal Nath</strong>-. Replacing the manual toll transaction all vehicles will pay toll through electronic tags across all national highways from May 2012. The system will based on the Radio frequency identification technology (RFIT).Passive RFID will ensure that a person can travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari without stopping anywhere. The revenue leakages at present are at least 15 per cent of the toll collection, which comes to about Rs 300 crore,&#8221;</p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://img.technospot.in/Etoll.png"><img class="size-full wp-image-2360 aligncenter" title="Etoll" src="http://img.technospot.in/Etoll.png" alt="Etoll" width="460" height="396" /></a></p><p><strong>According to the IANS report</strong>-</p><p>The government had constituted a committee headed by former Infosys Chief Executive and Unique Identification Authority Chairman Nandan Nilekani for this purpose. They said that the  challenge was to have a technology which was modern, user friendly and has international standards. India has about 71,000 km of national highways, but toll is collected on only 8,500 km. The government plans to increase this to at least 30,000 km in the next five years. This will prove as a good  step in the favour of government as well as the citizen of the country.</p><p><strong>How it will work</strong>-</p><p>Every car owner has to purchase a RFID tag which will cost Rs.100 and will be stuck on the windscreen of the vehicle. Now whenever the vehicle passes through thelane of the  toll booth across the country,   the system will identify the car and charge the appropriate  toll and it will be debited from your account. This system will help people in so many ways that it avoid time wasting, exchange of cash, and will prove effective in the tracking os stolen vehicles.Currently this technology is used in some countries like USA, Canada, Argentina,Mexico and Chile.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr_t_in_dc/3436640566/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2363" title="Etoll RFID reader" src="http://img.technospot.in/Etoll-RFID-reader.png" alt="Etoll RFID reader" width="474" height="336" /></a></p><p>I am very excited for this and hoping will get start on time!</p><p>What do you think?</p><p> <a href="http://twitter.com/?status=E-Toll system coming soon in India + http://www.technospot.in?p=2355"><img src="http://asset.technospot.in/v1/icons/tweetthis.png"/></a><a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://www.technospot.in/e-toll-system-soon-in-india/" title="Share on facebook" > <img src="http://asset.technospot.in/v1/icons/fbshare.png"/></a></p><p><small><a href="http://www.technospot.in/e-toll-system-soon-in-india/" title="E-Toll system coming soon in India" > E-Toll system coming soon in India </a> by Shweta Mohta originally appeared on <a href="http://www.technospot.in" title="Exploring India and Indian Aspects">Technospot.IN </a> on 2010/07/05. And all are unique in different aspects. But have you heard about mobile charging as a source of side income and that to in those areas where there is no continuous power supply? Not clear!!! Let me help you. </p><p>While we are on long tour we at times fail to charge our mobiles frequently and at times mobile gets switch off. And without mobile especially in remote areas communication gets distracted. And in need of urgency we fail to get connect. On these interior routes we come across many <em>dhabas </em>where we generally halt for some refreshments. Theses <em>dhabas </em>run their business on diesel power generators due to lack of regular power supply. </p><p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2130" title="eLantern" src="http://img.technospot.in/eLantern.jpg" alt="eLantern" width="150" height="240" />What theses dhabawalas have started doing is they are giving chance to charge mobile to the on route travelers, charge being Rs 3 to Rs 5 for 30 minutes. This has become an additional income for these dhabawalas and they are earning around Rs 200 – Rs 400 daily. The above business is practices especially in Bihar. Bihar is the most effected place due to no-power supply for long stretches. </p><p>Now the Government has become enthusiastic seeing the concept of business. The Government in support of it is planning to provide a combination of non-conventional energy tool and some earning opportunity. More clearly Government wants to supply solar LED lanterns with mobile charging facility to them. This is yet another innovative business that the Government is planning to do. </p><p>BTL (Beltron Telecommunication Ltd) will be buying 3.3 lakhs of these solar lanterns from Hyderabad based MIC Electronics for Rs 66 crore which in turn will be sold to people at a subsidiary rate. As per Mr Kumar MD, Patna based BTL Bihar would need over one crore of such lanterns to ‘empower’ people. <a href="http://www.micelectronics.com/solar_lantern_lighting.html"> Full Specification </a>here via <a href="http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2010/06/01/stories/2010060151050800.htm"><em>The Hindu Business Line</em> <br /> </a></p><p> <a href="http://twitter.com/?status=Solar Lanterns with Mobile Charger – “What an idea sir ji!!!” + http://www.technospot.in?p=2129"><img src="http://asset.technospot.in/v1/icons/tweetthis.png"/></a><a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://www.technospot.in/solar-lanterns-with-mobile-charger/" title="Share on facebook" > <img src="http://asset.technospot.in/v1/icons/fbshare.png"/></a></p><p><small><a href="http://www.technospot.in/solar-lanterns-with-mobile-charger/" title="Solar Lanterns with Mobile Charger – “What an idea sir ji!!!”" > Solar Lanterns with Mobile Charger – “What an idea sir ji!!!” </a> by Nidhi Paul originally appeared on <a href="http://www.technospot.in" title="Exploring India and Indian Aspects">Technospot.IN </a> on 2010/06/02. Ltd has developed cost-effective, low power and even solar-powered ATM which can be deployed in rural India. As a matter of fact this comapny has bagged an order of 550  ( includes 300 solar-powered ) ATM from SBI which will be deployed across the country.</p><div id="attachment_2056" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 571px"><img class="size-full wp-image-2056" title="Low Power ATM" src="http://img.technospot.in/Low-Power-ATM.jpg" alt="Low Power ATM" width="561" height="258" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Low Power ATM</p></div><h3>How this ATM works ?</h3><p>Vortex ATM differs from traditional ATM&#8217;s in term of how the note is picked up. In traditional ATM&#8217;s they are picked up using complex pathways on belts while in Vortex ATM there is no belt used. Instead the cassette inside is placed vertically and note is disposed off vertically. Moreover this ATM can be optimized to specific needs and thus has <a href="http://www.vortexindia.co.in/html/products.php">3 variants</a> till now of which one of them supports biometrics.</p><p>We hope this technology even goes one step ahead and more people in rural India get advantage of banks.</p><p><strong>Related : </strong><a title="Father of ATM" href="http://www.technospot.in/who-invented-the-atm-machine/"><strong>Who invented The ATM Machine ?</strong></a></p><p> <a href="http://twitter.com/?status=Vortex : ATM for Rural India + http://www.technospot.in?p=2055"><img src="http://asset.technospot.in/v1/icons/tweetthis.png"/></a><a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://www.technospot.in/vortex-atm-for-rural-india/" title="Share on facebook" > <img src="http://asset.technospot.in/v1/icons/fbshare.png"/></a></p><p><small><a href="http://www.technospot.in/vortex-atm-for-rural-india/" title="Vortex : ATM for Rural India" > Vortex : ATM for Rural India </a> by Ashish Mohta originally appeared on <a href="http://www.technospot.in" title="Exploring India and Indian Aspects">Technospot.IN </a> on 2010/05/26. The new Universal charging solution underlines the role of ICT in providing the solution towards mitigating climate change.</p><p>According to the director of <strong>Telecommunication</strong> Standard Bureau (TSU), it will be a significant step in reducing the environmental impact of the mobile charging. The new Universal charger will reduce 13.6 million tonnes of CO2 emission each year and 82,000 tonnes of dismissed chargers.</p><div id="attachment_2041" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 510px"><img class="size-full wp-image-2041" title="Mobile Charger for All" src="http://img.technospot.in/Mobile-Charger-for-All.jpg" alt="Mobile Charger for All" width="500" height="250" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Mobile Charger for All</p></div><p><strong> Advantage of being one charger</strong></p><p>The standardisation of technology used in the new phone charger enable the same charger to be used for all the future hand sets irrespective of make and model, it will be accepted by all the telecom companies. It will cut the number of charger produced, shipped and will be useful for the new models also.</p><p>The new standard will mean users worldwide will be able to charge their mobiles anywhere from any available charger, while also reducing the energy consumed while charging. As it is base on the input from GSMA it will reduce the standby energy consumption by 50%.</p><p> <a href="http://twitter.com/?status=One charger for all mobile hand sets : Coming Soon + http://www.technospot.in?p=2023"><img src="http://asset.technospot.in/v1/icons/tweetthis.png"/></a><a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://www.technospot.in/one-charger-for-all-hand-sets-coming-soon/" title="Share on facebook" > <img src="http://asset.technospot.in/v1/icons/fbshare.png"/></a></p><p><small><a href="http://www.technospot.in/one-charger-for-all-hand-sets-coming-soon/" title="One charger for all mobile hand sets : Coming Soon" > One charger for all mobile hand sets : Coming Soon </a> by Shweta Mohta originally appeared on <a href="http://www.technospot.in" title="Exploring India and Indian Aspects">Technospot.IN </a> on 2010/05/25.
