How to read Indain proprietary encodings : Unicode Conversion Gateway

Unicode is a standard way of displaying text rather a set of thousands of  characters which is used on the internet making it easy for everybody to read it easily. But in India there are many sites which uses proprietary scripts are not readable unless you have that script installed.

Unicode Conversion Gateway is an intiativeby Harshita Vani which can convert or transliterate these pages written in Indic Scripts into standard Unicode which anybody can read. Here is an example of Daily Kesari before and after the conversion:

This gateway as of now supports following scripts.

  • Bengali
  • Devanagari
  • Gujarati
  • Gurmukhi

Also you can find direct link on the gateway which you can use it for reading sites like this. Along with this it also allows you to convert any other site which is not into the list once you had entered the url here
