IRCTC, the official online portal to book Rail Tickets, is all set to launch a new version of the site on August 15, 2010.
According to the update I got in email, new planner is –
- And convenient
You can try the new interface using the ‘Try new interface – Beta’ link on the top of the IRCTC website.
The new look of login page is as shown below.
Looks like the new version will not be really very simple and convenient, maybe it will be faster; I didn’t see some major changes, though there are few of them, as described below.
- For example, have a look at the ‘Plan My Travel’ widget, which appears immediately in front of you as soon as you login, whereas in old version it wasn’t so convenient, as first thing you saw on page was some information and news, and below it the ‘Plan My travel’ section was there.
- Earlier, in order to go through some other operation or lookup other than making a new booking, you had to select the operation you want to perform, now there are just categories, like ‘Services’, ‘My Transactions’, ‘User Profile’, ‘General’, etc. simply click on any category to get the access to services in that category.
Go ahead and try the beta for Revamped version of IRCTC, share with us what do you think about it.
