IISc to start offering Management Studies course [Admission and Eligibility]

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, the premier Indian institute, known for the courses it offers in field of technology and science, will be offering Masters Program in management, starting August 2011. IISc used to offer a Masters Program in Business Administration, which was discontinued due to some reasons.

IISc to offer Masters Course in Management

The new program is supposed to focus on Technology Management and Business Analytics. Course has been designed considering the current trends, which will allow the engineers to grow into competent managers. Encouragement to entrepreneurship for high end technology start-ups will be an added attraction to this course.

The Admission forms for the all 15 seats to this course will be available in February.  Candidates who have secured first class in their B.E./B.Tech. /equivalent and who have also cleared the JMET (Joint Management Entrance Test)/GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) will be eligible for the admission. The admissions will be made after a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview, conducted by the institute’s Department of Management Studies.

Summarily, the eligibility criteria for the admission to the Management Course in IISc is –

  • Candidate should have secured First class in Engineering.
  • Should have cleared any one of JMET or GATE.

Later the institute will call you for a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview, qualifying these will entitle you an admission to the course.
