Most of the electricity board like Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), CESC Kolkata, UPPCL, and others have service for the consumer to get electricity bill information through SMS. Every time your meter is scheduled for a reading, you will get an SMS or an Email. The same happens when the final electricity bill is generated. You will get to know about units, the amount payable, and other info. Now the question is how do you get this service enabled. In this post, we will share how to get Electric bill alert on SMS or Email.
How to get Electric bill alert on SMS or Email
Since there is no central place to register your number or email to electric bill alert, you will need to check with your Electricity Board for this feature. Usually, when you get a meter, your number and email are taken into account, and you could opt-in for the bill to arrive on SMS. However, if you haven’t done so, I am listing out some of the Electricity Board links where you can register.
Always make sure to call 1912 if you have a problem with electricity.
1] CESC for Kolkata
Follow this link, and fill in details including the Consumer ID, Phone number, WhatsApp number, Email id to receive the monthly electric bill or any other form of communication.
2] WBSEDCL for West Bengal
Unlike CESC, WBSEDCL allows consumers to log in to their account, and manage everything from there. We will suggest creating an account with them using your consumer id, and then opt-in for electric bill alert on SMS or email.
3] BSES for Delhi
BSES Rajdhani Power Limited lets you register your email and phone number for alerts. Follow this link, and then go through the step by step instructions. You should create your account with them using the CA number.
4] PSPCL for Punjab
PSPCL which manages electricity for the state of Punjab has a dedicated page where you can register mobile number and email id.
5] DHBVN for Haryana
Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam started this new service for its consumer a few years ago. The board will send your electric bill information through SMS.
- The first one to inform the consumer about the amount and the due date of the bill,
- The second one will remind him 48 hrs before the due date of the payment
- Third SMS will be sent on receiving payment of the bill to inform about the receipt of payment.
All consumer will get their electric bill information through SMS, and the information will include the amount has to paid and the due date of the payment.
6] PVVNL for Uttar Pradesh
PVVNL/UPPCL manages electricity in Uttar Pradesh. You can create your account with them using your consumer id or meter number, and then pay the electricity bill, and also receive SMS about it.
